Lukey Goes to Jail

Yesterday afternoon I was shucking corn for dinner. Luke got the Cheerios out of the pantry and took them back to the boys room. He managed to get them open and the bag out and dragged the bag partially upside-down through the hall to the kitchen where he was BUSTED!!! Here's the trail...




So he went to jail while the big boys helped me clean up...

So today Gabe and Isaiah found a giant trash bag full of costumes in my closet. They've been there for a few months now. I got so tired of cleaning them up in their room that I decided to put them away for a while. Well, they dumped them all out and tried on every single one... "Mommy, can you zip this", "Mommy, this one's inside out", "Mommy, can you do these buttons..." Then they decided they were finished, and walked away. Uh-uh. I told them we weren't going to the store to get silly bandz until it was all cleaned up. It took them a good 10 minutes to shove everything back into that bag, and when they were finished I overheard Isaiah quietly say to Gabe "We're never ever gettin' this out again. Only when it's Halloween". AMEN. I love when they learn their lessons :)

In the car coming home from the wedding Gabe saw the sun shining on his legs and said "Mommy, look! I'm growing more fur!" I love his one-liners! Sometimes it's just what keeps me going :)

Boating on Lake Cammack

Our neighbor took us out on his boat a couple weeks ago. I was so proud of Isaiah for trying out the kid-sized water-skis. He fell both times and didn't want to keep trying, but I think he'll get it next time. He did enjoy the water tube. Gabe was a bit more cautious. Justin water-skied and when he fell, Gabe quickly yelled out "Hurry, go get him! I don't want my Daddy to die!" He was very serious too. We assured him that Daddy was safe but each time Justin went down, Gabe did not like it! Look at these handsome boys...

Norah Jones concert!

Justin surprised me with tickets to see Norah Jones in Asheville and spend a night at a fancy hotel! It was amazing!!! Norah sounds even better live! She was fabulous! Her band was excellent too! I didn't take that many pictures. Here's what I got...

KITTENS!!!

Taz had five kittens a few weeks ago! The same time my Mom was arriving for my birthday weekend! It was very exciting to watch the whole thing. She had them right under the bush beside the porch so we could see everything! Aren't they adorable?!

Having trouble uploading pictures of the kittens... Yes, we have more kittens!!!

So it looks like Luke's going to be a big brother too!!!

A great day at the Asheboro Zoo!

Yesterday we went to the zoo in Asheboro, about an hour away. We had perfect weather! My sister-in-law Meagan knows someone who gives her free tickets, so she collected a bunch and we all got to go for free!!! Shannon and her four came, Meagan (with child :) and Isaac, Anne, and Molly and her two little ones. We were quite the group! The animals were very cooperative :) showing themselves off and not hiding! The elephants were up close, the polar bear, the giraffes, you name it! Oh, and the lions! Sooooo beautiful! It was great to get all the kids together and the moms too :) I didn't have a camera with me, so thanks to Shannon and Mollie for catching these great moments!!!

Funny Gabe

Earlier this evening, when the kids were in the tub, Gabe farted. He looked down into the water, then looked up at me...
Gabe: "Mommy, do bubbles come out of our butts?"!!!
Me: "well, air comes out when we poot. Did you poot?"
Gabe: "No, I farted and it made bubbles!"

Such a silly kid!

Another side of Gabe:
Tonight Gabe was the last one awake and I let him have a banana in bed with us. I told him that as soon as he the last bite he would have to go back to bed. Well, he got down to the bottom and started taking little mouse bites, trying to buy time. I giggled and kissed his forehead, he knew I was onto him! So he popped the last bite into his mouth and grinned a Gabe grin. He said, with a mouthful, "it's still in my mouth"! Meaning- technically I'm not finished yet so I can stay? So cute. He ran to his bathroom to get a drink of water but turned around just as he was about to leave the room. He said "I'll be right back. I wanna kiss you!" :D !!!!!!!!! Lovin' this life!
